K-12 Violin Program

This program will give K-12 students a foundation in violin performance. Students will follow our standard pedagogy and progress through levels in accordance with their own ability. Goals for this program can range from  playing in local and church groups to majoring in music and applying to major conservatories. Miss Diane will hold your student’s hand on their musical journey.

My favorite age to start a new student is at five years.  Prior to that, preschool aged musicians are encouraged to join our Pre-Twinkle Violin ProgramParents attend all lessons with the beginning student and also learn the beginning stages of playing the violin.  Parents are responsible for supervising the home practice while the student is in the early stages.  Students starting from age 12 or older do not need to have a parent attending their lessons.

Students in the Conservatory take one private lesson each week. Five year olds usually start with a 30-minute lesson, then move up to a 45-minute and then 60-minute lesson as they advance. In addition to the private lesson, students attend Saturday workshops where they practice with other students at their level. Students perform in two solo recitals and one ensemble concert  each year.  We will also play at  Atterdag Village in December and present a Christmas Concert.
